AAUW Education Foundation
The AAUW Education Foundation provides funds to advance education, research, and self-development for women to foster equity and positive societal change.

AAUW Legal Advocacy Fund
AAUW’s Legal Advocacy Fund provides funding and a support system for women seeking judicial redress for sex discrimination.

Betty Medearis Memorial Scholarship
The Betty Medearis Scholarship, a local scholarship, begun in 1998,  is named for a past branch member of AAUW.  Applications are available for a $1,000.00 undergraduate scholarship to be used for colleges or universities within a 50-mile radius of Elgin. All women, age 19 or older, who have completed at least 12 college credit hours are eligible to apply. Click here to consult the guidelines.

Legacy Scholarship
Started in 2020, this local scholarship provided an opportunity for branch members  to celebrate  the 100th anniversary of the Elgin Area branch by making a donation to this scholarship fund. Applications are available for a $1,000.00 undergraduate scholarship to be used for colleges or universities within a 50 mile radius of Elgin.  All women, age 19 or older, who have completed at least 12 college credit hours are eligible to apply. At least 50% of scholarship recipients will be women of color.  Please click here to consult the guidelines in the Scholarship application for 2024-2025.
