The AAUW Education Foundation provides funds to advance education, research, and self-development for women to foster equity and positive societal change.

AAUW Legal Advocacy Fund
AAUW’s Legal Advocacy Fund provides funding and a support system for women seeking judicial redress for sex discrimination.

Betty Medearis Memorial Scholarship
Applications are available for a $1,000.00 undergraduate scholarship to be used for colleges or universities within a 50-mile radius of Elgin. All women, age 19 or older, who have completed at least 12 college credit hours are eligible to apply. Click here to consult the guidelines.

Legacy Scholarship
Applications are available for a $1,000.00 undergraduate scholarship to be used for colleges or universities within a 50 mile radius of Elgin.  All women, age 19 or older, who have completed at least 12 college credit hours are eligible to apply. At least 50% of scholarship recipients will be women of color.  Please click here to consult the guidelines in the Scholarship application for 2021-2022.

Our 2020-2021 scholarship recipient Griselda Alonso
Our 2020-2021 recipient for the Betty Medearis AAUW Scholarship is Griselda Alonso. She is enrolled in ECC’s Nursing Program with an end goal of becoming a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.  Griselda is a working mother who has been working on her dream for many years.  She views receiving the AAUW Scholarship as a real God-send for which she is sincerely grateful, and has pledged to “pay it forward” to other women who are pursuing their dreams.
