Program:  Nancy Kimball Cobblestone House

Date/Time: Thursday, November 4,2021

Location: 302 W Chicago Street, Elgin

Join Elgin Branch Members for a touch of early Elgin history as we tour the Nancy Kimball Cobblestone House. Built in the late 1846, this home was constructed by the sons of Nany Kimball, the widow of Joseph Kimball, one of the founders of Elgin.  It is the oldest cobblestone building in Elgin, and one of the last ones standing. Learn about Nancy Kimball and a little bit about life in early Elgin and about how this historic artifact was saved from demolition.
