Movie and Discussion Club – Meeting the 4th Tuesday from 6:00 – 9:00 PM at the Gail Borden Public Library, Community Room. Contact Janelle at 847-404-3482 for more information.

There will be a guided discussion after the viewing of each movie. We may eat during/and or after the movie – brown bag or purchase from, In the Neighborhood Cafe, at the library.

 

Tuesday, May 22, 2018,  Served Like a Girl (2017) Director Lysa Heslov’s documentary provides a candid look at seven American female veterans as they transition to civilian life after serving tours o duty in Iraq and Afghanistan. Struggling with PSTD, homelessness, broken families, serious illness, physical in juries and the aftermath of military sexual abuse, these women came together to participate in the 2015 Ms. Veteran America competition, whose purpose is to raise money for homeless women veterans, the fastest growing homeless group that, at the time of filming, numbered more than 55,000.
